What is The Church?
In this class we will explore the beginnings of the church (reading the Didache and about the Apostolic tradition) and learn about early house churches. Then we will move to he beginnings of the liturgy and focus on how the Eucharist (communion) developed. Next we will spend time leaning about pastoral leadership, power struggles, and where the Anglican and later Episcopal traditions come from. We will finish the course looking at the world today—with this rich and long heritage, what does belonging to church mean for us today?
