Youth Afterschool Education

Mid-September thru Mid-June | 3:30-5:15 pm | Grades 1-8
A year-long education program that delves deeper into what it means to lead a Christian life including: Christian practices & traditions, Bible stories, church history, music, why we do what we do in church, and Christian ethics. As always we will make this fun, engaging and interactive! Past projects have included re-writing and illustrating the Book of Moses, skits and plays about Jesus, a photography project about the Baptismal covenant and many more.
Components of Curriculum:
- Prayer: reading and reciting prayers with the goal of fluency and participation in church services. Prayer practices and types including creative, contemplative and spontaneous varieties.
- Bible: foundational stories and characters as well as ideas about the various literary forms.
- Culture and History: Chrisitan celebrations and the organization of the church year. Learning about saints and their lives and how our lives connect to them.
- Ethics and Identity: identifying ritual items, understanding ones self as a Christian.
The cost for the year per child is $1500 for non members and $800 for church members which includes all supplies, staffing and 5:30 pm community dinner. School pickup available from some local schools.
