As we continue to grow in our cozy church, we are excited to announce a special fundraising campaign that will enhance the beauty and comfort of our worship space — the replacement of our church chairs with custom designed pews. Over the past 10 years, Holy Apostles has grown not only spiritually and in our service to the community, but in our numbers. Our average Sunday attendance is now over 100 people, and significantly larger at major services such as Christmas and Easter.
Surveys and listening sessions with the congregation also revealed that people are reluctant to add additional services. And so the Mothers and Vestry wondered together: how can we increase the capacity of our church without losing the connection and community that we so value? With the Mothers leadership, we discovered Luke Hughes, a renowned furniture
maker who works with churches across the United States and the UK. By replacing our current seating with Luke Hughes’s beautiful (and comfortable) benches, we will be able to accommodate up to 150 people in the sanctuary - an increase of almost 40%.
This is where you come in.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to underwrite the purchase and installation of the new pews that will make our church more comfortable for all who come to pray, celebrate, and gather in community and allow our growth to continue - and to have them in place for Easter.
Our collective generosity will impact not only each of us as we continue to worship day to day, but will ensure that Holy Apostles remains a place of worship for all, well into the future - a warm and inviting home for all who enter where each person who walks into our sanctuary feels welcome and comfortable.
