Holy Days
Ascribe to the LORD the glory of his name; worship the LORD in holy splendor.
— Psalm 29:2
Sunday mornings are our main times to worship together, but during the year we have a number of special services for Holy Days that we celebrate together!
Please see our Calendar for exact Dates and Times.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Remembering Francis of Assisi who understood the blessing of all of creation we bring our animal companions to church for a blessing. Join us on the lawn for song, snacks and prayer! All animals are welcome, including the stuffed variety.
THANKSGIVING DAY
What better way to begin this day than to give thanks to God with your church family while your turkey waits at home.
CHRISTMAS EVE
A Christmas Choir Concert, a Christmas pageant, celebrating the joy of the incarnation of Christ with our families, neighbors and friends.
CHRISTMAS DAY
A quiet, joy-filled Holy Eucharist as we celebrate the Incarnation.
LESSONS AND CAROLS
Let the music and celebration continue on the first Sunday after Christmas with a service of Lessons and Carols. Led by our Director of Music, Saya Callner, this service features our Christmas Choir along with visiting musicians and voices. Sing all the hits! Hear all the passages of scripture!
ASH WEDNESDAY
Join us as we begin our Lenten journey in prayer, confession and meditation; the imposition of ashes - and receive nourishment and encouragement in the receiving of the Holy Eucharist. Ash Wednesday is an important way we mark the beginning of Lent and this season of repentance.
PALM SUNDAY
An outside procession of the palms and a re-telling of the Passion on this day that marks our journey towards the crucifixion and Good Friday.
THE PASCHAL TRIDUUM
The Sacred Paschal Triduum contains the three most solemn days of the liturgical year: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. These most holy days celebrate the Paschal Mystery, first; the passion, suffering, and death, of the Lord Jesus; followed by his resurrection, the triumph of the holy cross, and Christ’s decisive victory over sin and death.
MAUNDY THURSDAY
We offer two services on Maundy Thursday, the beginning of the Paschal Triduum. An informal family service with foot washing, song and Eucharist and a solemn evening service with special music, foot washing, Eucharist and stripping of the altar.
GOOD FRIDAY
A solemn service beginning at 12noon, we spend our time contemplating the Cross. The first hour is the Passion and Solemn Collects, the second hour are the Stations of the Cross & Veneration of the Cross, and the third hour is communion from the reserved Sacrament. Youth are encouraged to come to the 1pm hour.
EASTER VIGIL
An extraordinary service where we kindle the new fire outside, and move from darkness into the light, where we recount the story of creation and proclaim the first Alleluia of Easter!
EASTER SUNDAY
A festal Eucharist where we celebrate the mystery of the empty tomb with joyful music and an abundance of flowers. Followed by an Easter egg hunt and array of baked goods sweet and savory on the church lawn.
