Advent and Christmas at Holy Apostles
On the first Sunday in Advent, we will pray to God to give us the grace to cast away the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. With the coming of shortest day of the year and the long winter nights, we feel the darkness around us and many of us are struggling with depression, anxiety and stress. We can forget to ask God to help us see us through the darkness and point us to the light and the hope that we find in Jesus. Advent is a time in our church year that reminds us of God’s presence and the promise of new life, new hope in Jesus.
This year for Advent we are offering a combination of reflecting on scripture through our daily email and podcast, book groups, a concert and craft opportunities. We hope that all of these offerings will help us find peace, joy and hope.
Join us this Advent as we journey through the darkness and the wilderness to the light of Christ. Advent begins Sunday, December 3.
Give a Family Christmas
Share the holidays with PS 15 by giving gifts to students and their families. Expect to spend $30+ per person. We will have wish lists and book recommendations, so you will have guidance in your purchases.
Information about when and how to drop off gifts will be forthcoming. If you are interested in participating in the gift drive this year please click here to fill out the form.
So far folks at Holy Apostles have signed up to get gifts for 112 individuals. We are hoping to fill the needs of 40 MORE. Help share the joy of Christmas with our neighbors.
Christmas Greens and Music
As we prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ, we also prepare our church with greens, flowers and music. Please donate to support these efforts.
