Join the The Park Slope Woodwind Quintet at the Church of the Holy Apostles at 4pm on October 27th for an eclectic program of music by US-based composers! This concert features works by NYC-based composers Manuel Ciordiaand Yoshi Weinberg, as well as US-based composers Jane Kozhevnikova, Gary Nash, and Nathan Bueno de Mesquita.
Initially established for a 2021 outdoor concert series outside a stoop in Park Slope, Brooklyn, as live performances began to emerge amid the COVID-19 pandemic, The Park Slope Woodwind Quintet (PSWQ) has since become a consummate interpreter of standard repertoire equally at home on the street or in lauded venues across New York City’s boroughs. Now, the PSWQ redefines itself as a contemporary music ensemble aimed at lifting up its community and amplifying local artistic voices.
The PSWQ’s member’s collective education spans degrees from The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, and the New England Conservatory, among others. The musicians can be found performing in notable venues across the globe, and as dedicated music educators and administrators within the greater New York area.
