The Second Station: Jesus Carries His Cross.
Jesus breathed in.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Jesus is made to carry the cross on which he will die. It represents the weight of all our crosses. What he must have felt as he first took it upon his shoulders! With each step he enters more deeply into our human experience. He walks in the path of human misery and suffering, and experiences its crushing weight.
I notice my breath particularly in situations where I may be distressed, frightened—Pondering something, how to take care of something, is to breathe in and out: you wanna take in what someone is saying, and anxiousness: let it out! It helps to settle you. And to see what you need to see, feel what you need to feel.
And that’s always the advice I give myself when I’m going into a situation when someone I know is having a difficult situation, going on is to and then you’re in a different place which we all need to do these days. So it’s very simple and routine and they say about three repetitions, three. And it’s like the car Check Engine Light, so I said, “If it’s alright, breathe out three times, and breathe in three times, and you’ll feel better.” And then I feel better. So it goes both ways. Reciprocal.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Jesus breathed out.
